Mental health - Depression, Anxiety, and bipolar disorder issues can lead to suicidal thoughts or actions.
Physical Injuries - This can prevent students from participating in their sports which can lead to hopelessness and a loss of identity.
Performance Pressure - This becomes overwhelming very quickly and can lead a person to have immense stress and anxiety about school and sports.
Personal Issues - Not everything could be about the school. Having a relationship or financial issues can put a lot on athletes' minds, leading them to not perform as well in sports or academics and continue sinking in stress.
Substance Abuse - Substances increase the risk of suicide and athletes could turn toward them to try and cope with the stress or anxiety that they are feeling.
